Bed Bugs
Bed Bugs are flat, disc-shaped insects that are reddish-brown in color. Because they are quite small (being comparable in size to an apple seed) and are primarily nocturnal, they can be difficult to spot. During the day, bed bugs tend to stay out of sight. Some of their common hiding spots include headboards and bed frames, behind wallpaper and electrical outlets, in mattresses' seams, box springs, and bedding. At night, they come out to eat. Because they are blood vectors, their diet consists of human and animal blood, and their bites can cause rashes, itching, and other unpleasant symptoms. Bed Bugs can reproduce rapidly and can be difficult to remove without the experience and expertise of a seasoned pest control company like Action Pest Control.
Birds
Birds can cause numerous problems for a home or business. With birds like pigeons, their droppings can be a health risk and can cause damage to roofs and other structures due to uric acid. In addition to the health risks and property damage that they can cause, a colony of birds hanging around a place of business can look bad on the company's image. Our technicians have the training and equipment to resolve this problem for you.
Flies
House flies tend to stay within 1-2 miles of where they were born, but they have been known to migrate up to 20 miles to find food. These insects have been known to carry over 100 different kinds of disease-causing germs. They can be controlled through vigilant sanitation. Action Pest Control can help you eliminate flies.
Roaches
Roaches are probably the most common household insect that people encounter. They prefer inside heated structures with access to food and water. Most of the time, they are found in kitchens or bathrooms, but they can be found anywhere inside. Many times they are carried in with groceries or cardboard boxes. Action Pest Control can help eliminate roaches.
Spiders
Spiders, unfortunately, show up in a lot of homes and businesses. They can cause a scare to many people, and some, like the black widow, can be dangerous. Black widows have a red hourglass on the back and spin their webs near ground level. These spiders often build their webs in protected areas, such as in boxes and firewood. The venom of a black widow spider is a neurotoxin and is used as a defense, and its bite can cause severe pain. Avoid black widow spider bites by wearing heavy gloves when moving items that have been stored for a long period of time. Spiders often hide in shoes, so be sure to check shoes and shake them out before wearing them. Another common spider is the Hobo, or aggressive house spider. This spider is usually larger-bodied and may seem aggressive towards people. There bite can cause necrosis and can be mistaken for a brown recluse spider bite. When spider webs are visible, be sure to use caution before putting your hands or feet in that area. Action Pest Control can eliminate your spiders.
Termites
Subterranean termites live underground and build tunnels, referred to as mud tubes, to reach food sources. Subterranean termites are far from the most destructive species of termites. To prevent these termites, avoid water accumulation near your home's foundation. Divert water away with properly functioning downspouts and gutters. Never bury wood scraps or waste lumber in your yard. Be sure to eliminate wood contact with the soil. If you suspect that you might have a termite problem, contact Action Pest Control.
Wasps, Hornets & Yellow Jackets
Wasps like to set up their nests around the entrances to your home, around corners, and under decks and other overhangs. It's best to remove the wasps all as a community to prevent re-infesting the area. Action Pest Control can eliminate your wasp problem.
